Outdoor Education Center
The Glen Helen Outdoor Education Center has provided experiential environmental education for children and adults since 1956. We are committed to helping students and interns to develop resiliency, independence, and critical thinking skills, as well as to refine their interpersonal relationship skills.
The mission of the Glen Helen Outdoor Education Center is to provide science-based experiential learning in the outdoors while fostering respect for the natural environment and empowering people to act in its interest.
Using the 1,000-acre Glen Helen Nature Preserve as a learning laboratory, the Outdoor Education Center accomplishes this through a variety of offerings. Our flagship residential Outdoor School experience, our summer Ecocamps, on- and off-site Extension Programming, and our 10-month Naturalist Training Program provide environmental learning opportunities to groups of all ages and backgrounds.
